shakira and i, our hips don't lie

last night after work i went to my parents' house for dinner. just before we ate i tried cutting off the sleeves from the two t-shirts i bought from playa tamarindo, costa rica. they had cool designs on them but the cut just wasn't right. the sleeves were too small and so the seam kept creeping up into my pits. i cut off both sleeves from one and it still wasn't right. i figure i'll just leave the second one as is and give them both to pops. my dad happily takes them off my hands but offers the sleeveless one to my mom. my mom's like "when the hell am i gonna wear that sleeveless shirt?" she says it in chinese, of course.

you guys try speaking a foreign language 17 years after you learned it in high school? that's what we did in costa rica. it started to come back to me but i really wish i would've brushed up before the trip. i ended up relying on the phrases and glossary in the back of the cr guide book. me nombre es enrique! quien es su padre?
