it's a winding road...

you ever listen to a song and a certain line really grips you? i'm at work listening to songs on my laptop and "winding road" by bonnie somerville comes on. this song is on the "garden state" soundtrack, which is awesome, as is the movie. the song, as i see it, is about one person's meandering journey thru life and her search for purpose. the lines that hit me were "i can smell the ocean/the salt in the air/...and i can see california sun in your hair". it just conjures some pretty strong positive memories for me. for example, my first date with cvu in the bay area. we drove from sf to carmel, down hwy 1, for dinner. it's a beautiful drive, if you've never been, and i had my jeep wrangler at the time. i guess i left my snowboard, foreman grill, and heart in san francisco.
